As a followup to my previous post, I was thrilled beyond words to find out that “Ten Ways Teachers Tame Twitter” has been named the Best iBook of the Year in the Education (School Activities) category. There are several people I have to thank, because this would not have been possible without their contributions and efforts:

• Stephanie Taitano, for recognizing the value in these methods and making me do conference presentations with her about them. I had never seriously considered presenting at a conference before, and she gave me the kick in the pants that I needed to get out there. She also contributed her own experience that eventually became the focus of the Language Learning section of the book.
• Rui Li, for allowing me to learn how to use iBooks Author during work hours. Rui recognized that constructing eBooks could be a valuable skill for our department to have, and I don’t think there are many supervisors in similar positions who would have agreed to let one of their employees pursue something like this.
• Laurie Drumm, for all of the time she spent proofreading and editing. This book is a hundred times better because of your efforts.
• The University of Delaware, Dr. Monica Rankin, and Kim Smith, for their generosity in granting me permission to use their videos in the book. One of things I like most about working in higher education is that, even though we are technically competitors, employees at different universities often share their work with each other. In the end, we want all students to succeed whether they attend our university or not.
